Summer skincare tips

Updated 23/04/23

Summer skin care tips. As much as we love the look of sun-kissed skin, it is also important to protect your skin from harmful effects of the sun and heat. Humidity can lead to clogged pores and acne breakouts, air conditioning in summer can also dehydrate the skin.

Take into consideration the following summer skincare tips and you will be well on your way to enjoying all that summer has to offer

Cleanse to remove excess oils

Use a cleanser suited to your skin type that can remove all the dirt and excess oils. Our purifying gel cleanser is enriched with Green Tea, Alfalfa and Lemon Tea Tree to assist with breakouts while nourishing and balancing the skin.

Use a good face mist

To prevent sweat and oils from clogging your pores use a face mist. It can used throughout the day to uplift the skin and give it a healthy glow. Try our Balancing mist formulated with niacinamide, to help lock in moisture, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and revitalised through out the day.

Lighten up your skincare routine

When it’s hot outside, the last thing you want to feel is a heavy cream or foundation melting atop your face. Switch to our hydrating moisturiser, it has a silky consistency and provides a burst of hydration to the skin. Enriched with Hyaluronic Acid to help reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, retaining moisture to the skin creating a plumping effect.

Include a serum in your skincare regime

Serums are light weight and contain high concentration of active ingredients. Our lightweight firming serum contains a nourishing and rejuvenating blend of Hyaluronic acid, Vegan Collagen, and Kakadu Plum. Designed to slow down cellular ageing and provide intense hydration for flawless skin texture and a smooth complexion.

Exfoliate for healthy skin

Use a face scrub at least twice a week to remove excess dirt and oil from the skin. Remember to use a scrub suitable for your skin type and massage the scrub gently in a circular motion. Our gentle rosehip face polish helps dissolve dead skin cells and impurities to reveal a smooth and radiant complexion. In addition to this, Australian native lemon myrtle helps combat blemishes and skin breakouts.

Don’t forget to exfoliate your body. Removing dead skin cells with a body polish will not only give a smooth surface for applying a sunless tanner, but also enhances the penetration of moisturisers. Follow your shower or bath with application of a botanical body lotion especially after you exfoliate.

Wear sunscreen

A good sunscreen is vital for the summer months for all skin types. If you go swimming, we suggest you apply sunscreen multiple times.

Avoid heavy makeup

Heavy makeup prevents the skin from breathing. Humidity and heat also impact the skin’s ability to breathe. Instead of heavy foundation and other cosmetics, you could consider using a tinted BB cream with SPF.

Drink more water

Your water intake in summer should be a minimum of 2 litres a day. Drinking water also helps to flush the toxins from the body.

Go for seasonal fruits and vegetables

Seasonal fruits like cucumbers, watermelons, citrus fruits also help keep the skin healthy and hydrated.
