Immune support organic herbal tea

Our naturopath formulated immune support organic herbal tea is based on a range of organic botanicals to help support healthy immune function. This holistic blend includes echinacea and elderberries that help bolster immune defences to fight off colds and flu.

Therapeutic benefits

Echinacea – Contains anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiviral properties. Echinacea is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to reduce excess mucous and mild upper respiratory tract congestion.  As a blood cleanser Echinacea helps to relieve minor skin conditions.

Hibiscus – Loaded with antioxidants and vitamin C as we know is responsible for keeping our immune systems healthy. Studies have found that hibiscus tea may also lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, also known as “the bad” cholesterol.

Elderberries – Play an important role in building and maintaining immunity. Packed full of antioxidant such vitamin C and anthocyanins (the pigments that give red, purple, and blue plants their rich colour). In addition to acting as antioxidants and fighting free radicals, anthocyanins offer anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-cancer benefits. View research

Lemon peel – Lemon peel contains 5 to 10 times more vitamins than the lemon itself. Rich in immune-boosting vitamin C, helping synthesise collagen and acts as a potent antioxidant to protect the body from free radical damage. Both the lemon peel and the lemon juice contain vitamin C, so consider eating in immune boosting vitamin C.

How to brew the perfect cup of tea

Measurements & ratios

The recommended ratio is 1 teaspoon per cup of hot tea. If you like it nice and strong, add an extra teaspoon and brew for the recommended time.

To serve

Save your milk for black teas – most green and herbals are best served straight up.


Swill a little hot water in your teapot or cup, then discard. This will keep your teawares from cooling your tea too quickly. Green and herbal teas prefer 80°C, so just combine 20% cold water with 80% boiling water.

  • Black tea & Oolong 100°C 2-4 minutes
  • Green tea 80°C 1-3 minutes
  • Herbal & floral tisanes 80°C 3-5 minutes
  • Rooibos & honeybush tisanes 100°C 3-5 minutes

Loose leaf vs. tea bags

One of the main reasons we love loose leaf tea is the flavour. Usually loose leaf tea is higher quality than the tea in tea bags. Sometimes, tea bags are used to disguise lower quality tea leaves, but with loose leaf you can’t get away with that.

Most commercial tea bags are created using plastics, bleaches, glues, staples and other nasty things that are best avoided in your daily cuppa.

Another reason is because we love the environment. We hate to have a compostable material such as organic tea & herbs trapped inside little plastic pouches. Our teas are completely organic, so be sure to empty your loose tea leaves into the compost or the garden.
