Our naturopath formulated breathe easy organic herbal tea is formulated with plant compounds rich in decongestant, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties which may naturally help ease congestion and inflammation.
Therapeutic benefits
Peppermint – Rich in menthol, a compound that helps to open the airways, relieve nasal congestion, soothe sore throats and alleviate sinus discomforts. Peppermint also contains antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.
Eyebright – Contains antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Quercetin, a flavonoid found in eyebright inhibits the release of histamines, which helps to relieve allergy symptoms.
Sage – An effective antimicrobial and expectorant, which helps expel mucous from the respiratory track.
Eucalyptus – An expectorant, eucalyptus may help to expel phlegm and mucus. It also contain flavonoids that provides both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Mullein – An expectorant, which means it helps the body expel excess mucus from the lungs. It is also a demulcent, soothing irritation and inflammation in the respiratory tract.
Lemon peel – The vitamin C in lemon peel is not only great for boosting the immune system, it contributes to healthy looking skin.

How to brew the perfect cup of tea
Measurements & ratios
The recommended ratio is 1 teaspoon per cup of hot tea. If you like it nice and strong, add an extra teaspoon and brew for the recommended time.
To serve
Save your milk for black teas – most green and herbals are best served straight up.
Temperature
Swill a little hot water in your teapot or cup, then discard. This will keep your teawares from cooling your tea too quickly. Green and herbal teas prefer 80°C, so just combine 20% cold water with 80% boiling water.
- Black tea & Oolong 100°C 2-4 minutes
- Green tea 80°C 1-3 minutes
- Herbal & floral tisanes 80°C 3-5 minutes
- Rooibos & honeybush tisanes 100°C 3-5 minutes
Loose leaf vs. tea bags
One of the main reasons we love loose leaf tea is the flavour. Usually loose leaf tea is higher quality than the tea in tea bags. Sometimes, tea bags are used to disguise lower quality tea leaves, but with loose leaf you can’t get away with that.
Most commercial tea bags are created using plastics, bleaches, glues, staples and other nasty things that are best avoided in your daily cuppa.
Another reason is because we love the environment. We hate to have a compostable material such as organic tea & herbs trapped inside little plastic pouches. Our teas are completely organic, so be sure to empty your loose tea leaves into the compost or the garden.
