Sencha green tea
Sencha green tea – contains higher therapeutic properties than black tea. Sencha contains a significant amount of catechins, which are powerful antioxidants protecting the body from free radical damage. Studies have found that green tea increases metabolism, and helps lower LDL cholesterol (bad) while increasing HDL (good). Green tea contains the amino acid L-theanine, which directly stimulates the production of alpha brain waves, creating a state of deep relaxation and mental alertness, similar to what is achieved through meditation. L-theanine is also involved in the formation of the neurotransmitter GABA which help reduces anxiety without producing sedative effects.
Note: Green tea is generally safe to consume and completely natural. However, green tea does contain a small amount of caffeine. It is not recommended to consume before bed, in large amounts, or if you have a low tolerance to caffeine.
